Mapa de las mejores zonas de Madrid para alojar a un equipo desplazado según la ubicación de su oficina

What are the best areas of Madrid to house a relocated team based on the office location?

Choosing where to house a relocated team shouldn’t depend on rental price alone. It should depend, above all, on where the office is. A 40-minute commute during rush hour isn’t a minor detail — it affects the employee’s fatigue, their productivity, and, over time, their experience on the project.

At Biztrip we house teams in Madrid every day. That’s why we know the best area isn’t always the most central one, but the one that connects best with the employee’s actual workplace. Here’s what we recommend based on where the office is.

Why should the housing location depend on the office, not the other way around?

Many companies start by looking for “a nice apartment in the center” and only afterward check how long it takes the employee to reach the office. The order should be the other way around.

A long daily commute cuts into rest time, complicates work-life balance, and, in projects lasting several months, ends up affecting the employee’s performance. That’s why, at Biztrip, the first thing we ask a company is where the office is — not which neighborhood the employee prefers.

Which area works if the office is in AZCA or Nuevos Ministerios?

AZCA and Nuevos Ministerios form one of Madrid’s most important financial districts. The area is well connected by metro (lines 6, 8, and 10) and by the Cercanías commuter rail.

For this case, we recommend housing in Chamberí or Cuatro Caminos. Both neighborhoods are just a few metro stops away, offer a good range of restaurants and services, and avoid the higher prices of the very center.

Which area works if the office is at Cuatro Torres (northern Castellana)?

Cuatro Torres, at the northern end of Paseo de la Castellana, concentrates some of Madrid’s largest corporate headquarters. It’s well served by metro line 10, though somewhat removed from the traditional city center.

Here, the most practical choice is usually Chamartín or Tetuán. Both are residential neighborhoods with a direct connection to the office area and more affordable prices than downtown.

Which area works if the office is in Méndez Álvaro or southern Madrid?

Méndez Álvaro is a growing business hub near Atocha, with excellent Cercanías and metro (line 6) connections.

For teams working in this area, we recommend Arganzuela or Delicias. Both neighborhoods are a short walk or metro ride away, with a quiet, pleasant local vibe — something that matters over a stay of several months.

Which area works if the office is downtown (Gran Vía, Sol, or Salamanca)?

If the office is right in the city center, there’s no need to look for housing far away. The key here is balancing proximity with quiet, since the very center can be noisy for someone who also works from home a few days a week.

We recommend Chueca, Malasaña, or, for a more executive profile, the Salamanca district itself. All three are within walking distance of most downtown offices.

Which area works if the office is near IFEMA MADRID or the airport?

For employees working around Campo de las Naciones, IFEMA, or near Barajas airport, the priority is a direct connection, since this area tends to be somewhat removed from the rest of the city.

In this case, we recommend Hortaleza or the Campo de las Naciones area itself, both with direct access via metro line 8 — the same line that connects to the airport.

What else should you weigh besides distance?

Straight-line distance doesn’t always reflect real commute time. Besides checking the map, it’s worth considering:

  • The type of transport available: a direct metro connection isn’t the same as an area served only by bus.
  • The company’s working hours: if the employee leaves late, it’s worth avoiding areas with limited night transport.
  • Neighborhood amenities: supermarkets, gyms, and nearby restaurants improve the experience during longer stays.
  • Noise levels: relevant if the employee also works remotely from the property some days.

The best area is the one you stop noticing

Good corporate housing isn’t the one that looks best in photos — it’s the one the employee stops thinking about after a few days, because everything just works: the commute is easy, everything they need is nearby, and they actually get to rest.

At Biztrip, we choose every temporary rental in Madrid with the client’s office location in mind first, not the other way around. That way we avoid unnecessary commutes and help relocated teams settle in faster. If your company is planning where to house its next team, find out how we work and tell us where your office is.
